Congratulations to CJ Wood from the Rusk Chapter of the FFA and Jamie Henderson from the Lookout 4-H Club of Jacksonville for their performance in the 2012 Hay Judging Competition.  Both boys secured the High-Point Individual score in their respective divisions.  In recognition of their hard work, each of these young men will also be awarded a $1000.00 collegiate scholarship provided by the Cherokee County Ag. Business Committee.

The top three teams in the FFA Division all came from Rusk FFA Chapter. While the top three teams in the 4-H Division came respectively from Lookout 4-H of Jacksonville, Cloverleaf 4-H of Alto and Wells 4-H of Wells.

 2012 Cherokee County Hay Show where they will be recognized and awarded.
Event to be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 
at the County Showbarn in Jacksonville at 6 PM.


Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who participated in and/or  supported this evnt.  A special thanks is due to all of the parents and teachers who coached these kids.
Also, an extra-special nod of appreciation goes out to the Ag. Business Committee of Cherokee County, without their support, there would be no funding for these scholarships.

2012 Jr. Hay Judging Competition

This event will be held on Tuesday, October 16th at the Cherokee County Exposition Center in Jacksonville.
On-site registration will begin at 12:00PM and Judging will begin no later than 1PM.  For more information, please contact your County Extension Office.

Count Agents, Aaron Low and/or Willie Arnwine can are available to attend 4-H & FFA meetings to present mini-sized hay judging clinics.  If you would like either or both to attend your meeting, please contact us soon as we have to operate on a first come, first served basis.
